This year, Southampton University Kitesurf Club are hosting the first ever Student Nationals! On the 20th and 21st of March, Calshot spit will see the cream of university kitesurfers battle it out in freestyle heats to see who’s got what it takes to be Student Kitesurf Champ!
In true SKA fashion, this weekend will be one big messy party with a bit of kitesurfing chucked in... beach beats will be provided by the one and only Red Bull who are bringing their beach tee pee and superstar DJ to keep everyone entertained during the day! Commentating will be done by Lewis Crathern, or in other words, the Pier Jumper and judging will be carried out by the likes of Ali Barrett and James Boulding...
Come Saturday night, our very own Students Union are supplying us with our own bar to party in. Our media partners, ExPix will be setting up a projector and screen so everyone can see all the embarrassing photos from the day! Theme to be announced soon!
Sunday will see the finalists take to the water to win some epic prizes! Up for grabs are a holiday kindly donated by Hooked-on, a 2010 wetsuit and sector 9 longboard supplied by King of Watersports and many other goodies from the likes of Flexifoil, Kamikaze Boarding and Prolimit!
If you think you’re up to it and want to represent your Uni, drop us an email at and we’ll fix you up with a place!
